The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W development board is the latest product in Raspberry Pi’s most affordable single-board computer series. As the successor to the groundbreaking Raspberry Pi Zero W, Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W is a direct replacement for the original board with a compatible form factor.
The board uses a quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A53 CPU with a main frequency of 1GHz. Its core is Raspberry Pi RP3A0 system-in-package (SiP), which integrates Broadcom BCM2710A1 chip and 512MB LPDDR2 SDRAM. The upgraded processor provides the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W with 40% higher single-thread performance and 5 times the multi-thread performance than the original single-core Raspberry Pi Zero. Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W provides 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.2, while supporting Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and modular compliance certification.
The development board has a microSD card slot, a CSI-2 camera connector, a USB On-The-Go (OTG) port, and an unsoldered package for a HAT-compatible 40-pin GPIO plug. It is powered by the micro USB socket. Video output is through a mini HDMI port; if necessary, composite video output can be easily achieved through test points. The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W has the same dimensions as the original Raspberry Pi Zero and fits most existing Raspberry Pi Zero cases.
