How to make porcelain stoneware cutting line

Not always in a home workshop there is at least a manual tile cutter with a cutting roller and a foot for breaking tiles. Then the cutting line is made with a glass cutter, and for breaking it is necessary to use a device for breaking tiles along the cut made (pliers or nippers). In order not to spend money on its purchase, this tool can be made with your own hands if you have at least the initial skills in handling metal tools and a welding machine.

It will take the Materials:

cut porcelain stoneware;
steel strip;
a piece of a round pipe;
bolts and nuts;
paint for metal.

Tools: tile cutter with a guide, welding machine, grinder, hammer, vise, drills, spray gun, etc.

The process of making cutters for breaking off tiles along the cut

Cut off two long and six short parts of the same length from the steel strip. Moreover, we make short segments longer than the width of the strip. In two short blanks, we drill holes in the center and weld them to the ends of the long ones to get an L-shaped one-piece connection.

Weld the second pair of short blanks vertically to the ends of the short plates of the L-shaped joint. Insert a bolt into the holes of transverse short segments and make sure that the welded joints move relative to each other around the bolt, as if around an axis.

In one of the remaining short plates in the center, cut out a V-shaped groove with a grinder with a depth of about 3/4 of its width. Using the groove made, we bend the plate in its plane. We weld the curved workpiece along the bend line transversely to the end of the vertical short plate.

A section of a round steel pipe is cut in the longitudinal direction with a grinder into two halves. Inside each of the halves of the pipe, longitudinally and in the center, we lay the long parts of the welded joints with the outside, combining the ends, and in this position we weld.

We fasten the sixth plate to a free vertical plate with a hole in the center at the end using a bolt and a nut in the transverse direction, having previously made an oblong hole in it also in the center at the end and in the longitudinal direction.
